Letter from the Publisher:
A Difficult Decision
by David Hachmeister
We are sorry to make this announcement, but this is the second-to-last issue of Rubber Stampin' Retailer. Just as many of your friends in the craft have said goodbye, now so must we. We have thoroughly enjoyed our visit with you and will continue with our other trade publications. This has been a very difficult decision, but February will be our last issue.
In our almost 15 years together we have admired your enthusiasm for your craft and had the pleasure of watching you have fun at the various ARTS. It sustained us when things weren't going as well. We wish it could have continued on, but the craft market moves in very fast and mysterious ways.
Our first print issue debuted in September 1993. We went from concept to first issue in about 90 days. This may be a publishing record. Not only thatwe were profitable in our first issue! This is also unheard of in the publishing industry. Our real struggles began almost immediately after 9/11. It hastened the demise of the ARTS and cut marketing budgets everywhere.
Please feel free to stay in contact and let us know how you are doing. Thanks for reading, and keep on stamping. Best wishes to you all.
