Happy Trails to You

by Kathleen Strickland

As Rubber Stampin' Retailer rides off into the sunset, I will remember all of you with pleasant thoughts and a deep appreciation for the unique and wide-ranging art created with the humble rubber stamp. Until I began working with RSR, I never experienced art stamps and the wealth of imagination and skill that people bring to their use.

To all of you who submitted articles, how-to pieces and "What's In Store" notices, thank you for helping to keep the magazine vital and timely. To the contributing artists and designers, we appreciate the beauty you have brought to RSR. To our loyal contributors to "Sales Signals," thank you for providing the statistics that made this column possible over the years. To our advertisers, we offer our gratitude for all of your support. And to our readers, thank you for keeping your faith in art stamps as an art form and for keeping the art stamp business lively and appealing for your customers.

We've had a good run since Rubber Stampin' Retailer's debut in 1993. I sincerely hope that the art of rubber stamping will evolve successfully in the coming years, providing ever-changing creative outlets for your current and future customers.

Until we meet again, I wish you the very best.

A Fond Goodbye

by Erin Cochran

We here at Rubber Stampin' Retailer are very sad to see the magazine moving on. It has been a joy every month to bring you the latest news in the world of papercrafting and to work with you, our readers, as you develop your stores into works of art in their own right.

Prior to this position I was aware of the existance of art stamps in a general way, but it was becoming an assistant editor at RSR that truly introduced me to the art of stamping. Now I make all my own greeting cards and have even begun dipping a toe into scrapbooking. As I attended the shows and read up on new products, I was just as fascinated as all of you to follow the latest crafting trends and see where the industry as a whole was headed. So many companies have come out with beautiful and innovative products, and so many artists are creating unique projects with them. It's a wonderful thing that you are there to provide warm and welcoming places for crafters to create.

A big thank you to all our readers and contributors for making this journey with us over the years. We wish you the best in your own continuing journeys, as crafters and as businesspeople. May your paths always take you to new and interesting places.
