Floral Wreath
by Sharon Stead
This card uses the new Stamp Barn Cling Mount stamps. The good thing about cling-mounted stamps is that you are able to see exactly where you are positioning the image before stamping. In this case, one wreath will be stamped exactly over the top of another without having to wonder if you are lining the two pictures up correctly. All you need is the rubber and a clear piece of acrylic to mount it on.
MATERIALS NEEDED:
- Stamp Barn Cling Mount stamps: CHSH 079 N (Pine Wreath); CFLR 003 N (Flower Wreath); CWOR 143 D (Two Lives & Two Hearts)
- Memories: pigment ink; pine green dye ink
- paper: white cardstock (5 1/2" x 8 1/2"); pastel green vellum (5 1/2" x 8 1/2")
- Sure Tac Craft Glue
- gold embossing powder
- green ribbon (1/4" x 5 3/4")
- markers
- acrylic block (at least 4" square)
- heat tool
INSTRUCTIONS:
Step 1
Fold the piece of white cardstock in half. Peel the backing off of the Pine Wreath rubber image and mount it on a piece of acrylic. With Memories Pine Green dye ink, stamp the Pine Wreath on the front center-top.
Step 2
Fold the pastel green vellum in half. Place the vellum over the previously stamped white cardstock so that the stamped image is on the inside. Place a couple of dots of Sure Tac Craft Glue along the fold to secure the two layers together.
Step 3
Take the first rubber image off the acrylic block and replace it with the Flower Wreath image. Using Memories pigment ink, stamp the image on the green vellum directly over the other wreath. It is best to do this stamping while you are stamding up so that you can look straight down on the two images, making sure that they line up. Emboss the image with gold embossing powder, then color the flowers and leaves with markers. When you are coloring vellum, it is best to have a tissue handy so that you can blot the excess moisture from the color to prevent the vellum from wrinkling.
Step 4
Choose a verse to place at the bottom of the card. In this case we used CWOR 143 D, but any appropriate verse will work well here. Stamp it with pigment ink and then emboss with your heat tool and gold embossing powder.
Step 5
Add a ribbon to the left side of the card. Bend the ribbon ends over the top and bottom of the vellum and glue to the inside. Add a sentiment to the inside and your card is now complete. Enjoy.
